STAINLESS STEEL RAILING – TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
1. Material: Stainless Steel.
2. Stainless Steel Grade: SS 304M / SS 316, as specified in the approved design or quotation.
3. Minimum Material Thickness: 1.0 mm.
4. Material Certification: Stainless steel material shall be supplied with a valid Material Test Certificate (MTC) confirming the material grade and applicable mechanical/chemical properties.
5. Strength & Rigidity: The completed railing system shall be adequately strong, rigid and securely fixed. Under normal usage and hand-applied forces, the railing shall not have noticeable looseness, instability, or excessive movement/deflection.
6. Posts & Supports: Railing posts, intermediate supports and structural members shall be adequately sized and spaced according to the design requirements and site conditions.
7. Fixing & Anchoring: All posts shall be securely anchored to the supporting structure using suitable approved fixing/anchoring methods.
8. Welding & Fabrication: All welded joints shall be properly fabricated, continuous where required, structurally sound and suitably finished.
9. Surface Finish: Stainless-steel surfaces shall be properly finished, free from sharp edges, burrs and unsafe projections.
10. Quality Requirement: The complete railing system shall be manufactured and installed to provide adequate strength, stability, durability and safe performance during normal use.
Note: Material thickness alone does not determine the strength of the railing. Pipe/section diameter, post spacing, railing height, support arrangement, anchoring method, weld quality and applicable design loads shall also be considered.
